Beamline 4-3 now replaces 6-2 as the preferred location for Sulfur K-edge experiments at SSRL. SSRL offers more than 30 experimental stations, supporting a variety of techniques including: macromolecular crystallography, soft and hard x-ray microscopy, microXAS imaging, x-ray scattering and diffraction, photoemission spectroscopy and x-ray absorption and emission spectroscopies. 2018-02-20 2018-02-20 2021-04-07 SSRL Beamline 5-4 UV or x-ray photons are directed onto a sample where they interact with the electrons within the sample, ejecting them into the vacuum. SSRL has recently returned to extended running following the successful commissioning of a dedicated injector, and operation of the SPEAR storage ring exclusively for synchrotron radiation research. During the hiatus, the entire beamline data acquisition systems at the laboratory have been upgraded and extended to provide a more consistent, capable, and flexible interface to synchrotron users. A PIPS solid XRF was performed at beamline 4-3. The film 12 Feb 2014 and Cr K edge XANES measurements were performed at SSRL beamline 4-1 and beamline 4-3. The XANES spectra were recorded in. 23 Jun 2015 S XANES spectra were collected within a He-purged sample chamber under a continuous He flow with a Lytle detector at SSRL beamline 4-3.

Our set of model compounds includes sodium sulfate, glutathione, L-cysteine and elemental sulfur that were purchased from Sigma-Aldrich (Switzerland). In addition to these end-stations, SSRL has two high-flux wiggler side stations for XAS, which are fed by a 22-pole 2-Tesla insertion device. Beam line 4-1 is optimized for XAS measurements between ~5.5 and 30 keV, whereas BL 4-3 is optimized for experiments at 2.4 to 7 keV. X-ray Scattering at SSRL edge X-ray absorption spectra were collected on beamline 4−3 at the SSRL operating at 3.0 GeV and 100−200 mA.
