The claim: Pastor Ake Green of Sweden was sentenced to prison for preaching against homosexuality. What are Christian groups saying? The protest was in response to Sweden’s arrest of Åke Green, a Pentecostal Christian pastor who was arrested for hate speech against homosexuals. Green was sentenced to a month in prison, but was later acquitted.

Åke Green (Swedish: [ˈǒːkɛ ˈɡreːn]; born 3 June 1941) is a Swedish Pentecostal Christian pastor who was prosecuted, but acquitted, under Sweden's law against hate speech because of critical opinions on homosexuality in his sermons. The district court found him guilty and sentenced him to one month in prison.
