I have a 300 (original Compellor circa 1985, same basic idea as the 320A except the limit ratio is more extreme, it won't do dual mono, & all those handy front panel switches were originally jumpers on the PCB) and I use the 320A in a lot of the places where I freelance. The Compellor is really cool for Modulus Maximus because it is a feed-forward design with VCA based gain reduction. The control circuitry uses a dual slope detector that doesn't 'hold' onto the peaks. It has a very quick attack and release for quick events so it doesn't "dunk" down on plosives. It just limits them and gets out of the way.
